How to reconcile a religous disagreement with our neighbors?

Question by Dapper Dan, Fisherman: How to reconcile a religous disagreement with our neighbors?
Yesterday, we were having a backyard barbeque with some of our church friends. One of our friends “Sally” noticed the neighbor “Susan” walking in to her house. Since “Susan” is about 7 months pregnant, “Sally” made a comment to the group that we would soon have the patter of little feet in the neighborhood. My wife “Ann” then said something like, they are pretty nice, but I’m afraid they are going to burn in Hell. Unfortunately, “Margaret”, who lives with “Susan” was in the yard gardening, overheard. She ran up to my wife and told her to mind her own business “you female dog”. My wife is crushed. She had no idea “Margaret” was in the yard, and she was just trying to make polite conversation. My wife is also very sensitive to these issues because she has been unable to conceive. What is the best way to handle this? We don’t want to get too close because they are defying God’s plan, but we don’t want our neighbors to be so angry either.
