Is there any episodes of the office that have to do with “planning”?
Question by jamile2786: Is there any episodes of the office that have to do with “planning”?
I am a college professor and I have been teaching my kids the importance of planning when it comes to a business. I want to show an episode of the office that has to do with planning. Are there any episodes of the office that have to do with planning? Or how planning went wrong for something the people were trying to do?

The one thing you should note is that Michael Scott doesn’t have conventional plans in business, his plans tend to far fetch ideas that would never work…or have nothing to do directly with the business.
Well, there was a story arc where the lead character(Spoiler Alert) leaves Dunder Mifflin to start his own company, however he lacks a plan and pretty much starts working on plans as he’s doing it(don’t know if that makes sense).
Episode – Michael Scott Paper Company
There was another episode where some disgruntled worker placed an obscene watermark on the paper and shipped it off to all the customers. Michael comes up with a plan to take advantage of the unfortunate events, by notifying the newspapers first(before they catch wind of the headline…I think he claimed CNN will have a field day, but the rest of the employees state that theres no need to draw attention)
Episode – Product Recall
Anyways, he has a reporter come in and a representative of a company who is a customer…but things don’t go the way he wants it.
Product Recall
Another example
Michael tried to save his branch from closing so they went off to the CFO’s house and waited for him trying to save his branch. What ends up happening while they wait, is that Michael and Dwight go through many scenerios and plan on what to say when meeting the CFO
Epi – Branch Closing
Example
Michael was upset that another branch was trying to steal his top employee, so they devised a plan to sabotage the other branches’ printer
Branch Wars
EDIT = Another example was Michael trying to get back his old customers, his plans were to visit each of them to deliver a gift basket.
I hope one of these examples will help you out, its hard to really come up with anything because the Office hardly seems business like at all…
